Congratulations to both boys and girls tennis on an incredible season.

For the first time, boys tennis had an undefeated record for their regular season, at 17-0. Girls tennis remained reigning champions for their regular season for the 5th year in a row, also at 17-0. Both teams were OCL champs.

After the regular season, it was off to South Sectionals. Boys played Marshfield in the first round and had an easy 5-0 victory. North Attleboro, their next opponents, proved to be another easy 5-0 victory. The semi finals was a close match, but Barnstable pulled through beating Welsley 3-2. Boys tennis faced a tough loss against BC High in the South Sectional finals. The final score was 2-3.

Girls tennis remained reigning champions for their regular season for the 5th year in a row. OCL champions 5 years. Girls tennis became South sectional champions after beating Needham 5-0. After south sectionals, girls went To the state semifinals against Andover, where the team faced an incredibly close match. Lauren Persson, number one singles player, lost her 3rd set in a tie breaker evening out the final score to 2-2. It all came down to one final match played by Maggie Pedicini, number two singles player. Pedicini’s match lasted close to four hours. After a tough fight, Pedicini faced her first lost in her career on the girls tennis team.
