Senior Plans Shoe Drive

Senior Andrew Merritt is hosting a soles4souls shoe drive at BHS on April 28-May 2. There will be various collection boxes placed throughout the school. Merritt said his goal was to collect as many as 300 shoes that will be shipped throughout the world to those in need. The project is being conducted through Merritt’s social entrepreneurship independent study. He said the study was “geared to charities and the financial aspect of running one.”

Celebration Still Needs Volunteers

On March 12, Deb Nelson and Cheryl Corbett, Co-chairs of the BHS Celebration committee issued an official letter of resignation. Their letter stated, “We would be heartbroken if the program is discontinued and something happened to one of the students. Please help us in our outreach efforts. If we do not hear from anyone, by May 15, then we need to make arrangements to close out the account at the end of the school year.” As of Insight’s publication date, there has been no offer to take over leadership of the committee. The email to contact the Celebration committee is bhs.celebration.net.

On April 30 senior and early grad students are urged to attend a Celebration meeting at 7pm in the junior/senior cafe. At this meeting, parents will receive their students’ senior star and all the forms that need to be turned in for students to attend Celebration.

On May 3, there will be a fashion show to benefit Celebration 2014. The show will be held on Main St., Hyannis. There will be more information to come. E-mail [email protected] for any questions.
