Scammys or Grammys 2021?

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards show premiered last night on CBS, and shirtless Harry Styles won the crowd over with his rocking green feather boa and performance of his hit song, Watermelon Sugar.

It is both surprising and bold of the producers to have Styles kick off the show. I do not know about you, but I was ready to turn off my T.V. because I was more than satisfied with only watching Styles perform, and I am sure others were too.

Moving on from Styles’s brilliant performance, other various artists sang too, like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, and DaBaby.

Swift sang and presented herself beautifully. The scenery on the stage was by far the most enjoyable part of her performance. She performed in a magical, fairytale-like forest with a beautiful cabin. Swift sang her songs Cardigan, August, and Willow alongside collaborators Jack Antonoff and The National’s Aaron Dessner. She deservingly won Album of the Year for her album, Folklore

Superstar Eilish, as usual, performed remarkably last night with her soothing and original voice. She sang Everything I Wanted alongside her brother Finneas, who played the keyboard. Eilish ended up winning Record of the Year for Everything I Wanted

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion performed WAP on stage, and it was graphic, to say the least. The two flirted with the camera for their entire performance. Unfortunately, half of the song was cut because WAP is so explicit. Overall, they are amazing artists and gave us a performance we will never forget.

DaBaby performed Rockstar alongside his collaborator Roddy Ricch. I gave him the best outfit for the night, he was rocking in an all-white suit with Chanel pins and diamond gloves.

I think most of the viewers, including myself, were very impressed by how well the Grammys was presented this year due to the circumstances of COVID-19.

Even though I adore the Grammys, it was hard to respect and value the show this year due to the allegations of how the event is a scam. Within minutes after the Grammys aired, “Scammys 2021” began trending on Twitter.

Most of the tweets were about BTS, Zayn Malik, and The Weeknd not getting nominated for anything and somehow being robbed from the awards they deserve.

Several days before the Grammys aired, famous singer and songwriter Malik posted a brutally honest and aggressive tweet on Twitter calling out the Grammys and everyone associated with it. He tweeted, “Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations.”

Zayn is just one of many public figures stating how the awards are meaningless and aren’t pure. He seems to think nothing about the show is out of honor.

Do you think the Grammys are a scam?
